John Denver, a singer-songwriter born in Colorado who was a specialist in folk-pop music that brought joy to millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Deutschedorf from Roswell near New Mexico, fell in Love with Colorado. The place he settled was Aspen. Denver's songs that he sang about his new home state have brought many others to make the move to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame claimed it was because John Denver is the only actor to be a symbol of Colorado. Denver was the premier Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. Today he personifies the state to people around the world. It is a fact that when I travel you meet someone from the opposite end of the planet, someone comes from New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the first word that comes that comes out of their mouths is Oh John Denver! Brown admitted. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief period of performing with small folk-based groups is Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff originally wrote it using Johnny Cash's songs in mind, but Denver knew from the first time he heard first versions of the song that it was going to be an instant smash. Just a couple of days after performing before a large crowd within Washington D.C., the musician recorded the track.
